Eugene Chadbourne has been composing, performing, and writing about music since at least 1975. Among his innovations are creating a musical instrument from a garden rake and arranging and performing Bach, Beefheart, and Zappa compositions on the banjo. He’s collaborated with an astounding number of artists over the years, Camper Van Beethoven, John Zorn, Henry Kaiser, Han Bennink, Jimmy Carl Black, etc. In addition to his solo efforts and collaborations, he also led the band Shockabilly in the 80s.
Rogier Smal is a drummer who experiments with free percussion sounds. He plays with different groups, musicians and solo. Lately Rogier has been lucky enough to have been making sonic waves of liberty with gems like: Jaap Blonk, Marshall Allen, Dagora, Dylan Carlson, David Birchall, Geoff Leigh, Sunburned hand of the man, Mik Quantius, Cathy Heyden, Daevid Allen, and many more
Eugene and Rogier met when they played the Greensboro fest in the US in 2011. Now they get the chance to explore further.
